Personal Employment History
An entrepreneur at age 10, selling sunglasses and steelies at the elementary school playground in Seattle, Washington. At 12, earned money hawking the Seattle Times in the disembarking traffic of the Bremerton Ferry. In 1964/65, employed at the local Piggly Wiggly Supermarket in Atlantic Beach, NC, and the Hardees burger stand in Morehead City, NC. At 16, while going to school, apprenticed at Carteret-Craven Power and Light in Morehead City. Left home at age 17 when the family moved to Massachusetts. In High School earned a living at Carteret-Craven Power and Light, fishing the Intercostal Waterway in the summers, and as casual labor at the Federal Housing Authority in Havelock, NC and at Morehead NC. After graduation at 19, admitted to the spring semester of Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC. In 1970 received draft notification and as a result, joined the United States Coast Guard.
